Bonnie Chan Yi-ting, the first female chief executive of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, was listed 45th among the world's 100 Most Powerful Women in Business by Fortune.
According to this year's list, two female executives hail from Hong Kong - Chan and Pansy Ho Chiu-king.
The latter, who chairs a Macau casino operator, MGM China, ranks 80th.
Chan, with more than 30 years of global capital markets leadership and expertise, was appointed HKEX's CEO on 1 March 2024.
The list is compiled based on criteria, such as company size and health, career paths of female leaders, and positional and broader influence.
Wang Laichun, co-founder of Luxshare Precision Industry, ranks 10th making, with Meng Wanzhou, daughter of Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei, ranking 43rd.
