He also showed appreciation for the movie soundtrack, crafted by Hong Kong musicians who created an East-meets-West audio experience using instruments like the traditional Chinese suona and the electric guitar.
Lee said the film reflects the rapid development of the nation's animation production, allowing international audiences to experience the charm of Chinese culture.
Meanwhile, martial arts icon Donnie Yen Chi-tan will direct and star in a new action movie that is aimed at bringing global attention to Hong Kong. Speaking at the BMW Hong Kong Derby on Friday, Yen said he is in talks about a possibly a Hollywood-grade movie.In an effort to promote the city, he has requested that the action thriller be shot mostly in Hong Kong and Macau.
"Action films are an icon in Hong Kong cinema. If I don't promote them, who will? I have to take the lead in promoting them," Yen said.
