With the new visa provisions for BNO passport holders, there is an increase in interest for the already sought-after UK property market. For investors looking for options outside London, make sure you take a look at Birmingham, a rising star in Britain.
Why Birmingham?
As one of the country’s biggest financial and commercial centres, Birmingham is the largest city in the UK outside of London with a population of 1.1 million.
With major companies such as HSBC, PwC and Deutsche Bank relocating their offices to Birmingham over the past few years, and the city being home to over 80,000 students with five top universities there, there is a large pool of professionals and students seeking lodging.
There will be further improvement to the city’s connectivity with the construction of the £100-billion HS2 rail link which will lead to drastic reduction in travel time to other major UK cities. With this new rail link, travel time to London will be cut to just 45 minutes. This new line will also create an estimated 36,000 jobs in Birmingham and 104,000 across the West Midlands region, as well as an estimated £14 billion in additional economic output. When fully operational, the HS2 will carry 300,000 passengers every day.
The Copperworks
Situated in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter– one of the UK’s most exciting districts and the most desirable residential area in Birmingham, The Copperworks is a modern and contemporary development with 136 high specification apartments.
As the exclusive agent for The Copperwork’s 1st phase, One Global Property Services is launching The Copperworks on behalf of the developer, Kings Crescent Homes, and welcoming investors and home buyers alike to join the exclusive launch on November 7-8.
The Copperwork’s 1st phase comprises a mix of 71 one and two-bedroom apartments and townhouses, ranging from 438 to 1,453 sq ft. Most of Birmingham’s major city centre landmarks, centres of employment, tourist attractions and transport links are reachable within 10 to 20 minutes by foot from The Copperworks. This includes New Street Station, Brindley Place, Colmore Row, The Mailbox, O2 Academy, International Convention Centre, St Paul’s Square, Chinatown and University College Birmingham.
Located in the Jewellery Quarter, north-west of the city centre, the development is in close proximity to transport links. Within easy reach, the Jewellery Quarter station is just an 8-minute walk away. One of the most vibrant residential districts in the city, the Jewellery Quarter has a thriving entertainment and arts scene, set amongst a selection of independent bars, cafes and restaurants.
What’s more, while Birmingham sits right in the centre of the UK, the development is well connected on the national rail and road networks. The main rail terminus is Birmingham New Street Station, which is within a 15-minute walk from The Copperworks on the other side of the city centre. This is the busiest station in the country outside of London, serving 140,000 passengers a day.
Priced from £185,000, the project is estimated to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2021 or the first quarter of 2022.
