Brace for some windy and chilly weather today as the mercury is expected to dip to 14 degrees Celsius on a strong northeast monsoon affecting the coast of southern China.

It advised individuals planning water sports activities or operations at sea today to take special care due to high winds and rough conditions.
It added that it will be mainly cloudy and cool in the morning today, while the weather will turn dry with sunny intervals during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 20 degrees.
"It will be cool in the morning in the following couple of days, with mainly fine and dry weather in the middle and latter part of the week, with the temperature gradually rising as the monsoon moderates," the observatory said.
The observatory warned of a "relatively large" temperature difference between day and night.On Friday the lowest will be 17 degrees and the highest will be 24 degrees, it added.
