Mainland food delivery platforms are expanding their services beyond meals and daily essentials to point-to-point courier and personal transport services, with parents hiring couriers to take their children to school, according to mainland media Cover News.One mother explained that, due to her busy job and frequent overtime, she struggles to take her child to school in the morning.
Some parents even order the service on a monthly basis, the report said.

She believes that couriers, under platform supervision, provide a reliable solution as they must confirm deliveries with photos or videos and are trackable through GPS facilities.
Another parent indicated that he spends 2,500 yuan (HK$2,652) monthly for the daily school runs, with couriers documenting the entire process and uploading it to video-sharing platforms.
Mainland reporters tried to place an order to send a child to school through one delivery app.
It cost a 12 yuan fee, with a courier accepting the job within three minutes.
