This follows the Legislative Council's passage of the Medical Registration (Amendment) Ordinance in 2021, which recognizes non-local medical qualifications for doctors to practice in the SAR.
The latest group of 28 recognized medical institutions encompasses programs from 23 different tertiary institutions across five countries, including Australia, Canada, China, the United Kingdom and the United States.
This includes seven medical qualification courses offered by four mainland Chinese institutions, namely Capital Medical University in Beijing, Fudan University in Shanghai, Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan and Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou.
