Sports scientists at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University are working with the Diocesan Girls' School to establish an AI Swimtech Laboratory to help athletes by integrating sports technology with biomechanics. This aims to enhance elite athletes' and talent identification by unleashing their potential, in order to maximize athletic performance at a school level and nurturing more outstanding local swimmers. "Hong Kong's 'flying fishes' continue to shine. The integration of technology in athletic training not only effectively unlocks their potential, but also helps them achieve results," said PolyU vice president (research and innovation) Christopher Chao Yu-hang.
Under a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two, DGS will provide swimming facilities, where PolyU will install equipment for data collection and student swimmers will engage in research.
