Beauty of ink art to roll out

On-screen characters continue to dominate much of what we see today, but the beauty of Chinese ink art endures.

A glorious range will be on full display at the Hong Kong Palace Museum as the United Overseas Bank Art Academy and the museum join forces again to present the Art in Ink Festival for a second consecutive year from December 16 to 31.

The exhibition takes in the UOB Art in Ink Awards Winners' Showcase, interactive ink experiences, animated ink screening, talks and panel discussions, pop-up music performances and art in ink workshops.

United Overseas Bank chief executive Christine Ip Yeung See-ming says the partnership not only showcases "the profound beauty of ink art but explores the creative potential of this traditional form while nurturing the next generation of artistic talents."

Museum director Louis Ng Chi-wa noted that the festival provides opportunities for Hongkongers and visitors from afar "to appreciate and engage with the profound beauty of traditional Chinese ink art."
