Studious MTR commuter gets the looks

A train passenger went the extra mile to demonstrate what "every second counts" really means by opening a foldable table on board the MTR to do revision while traveling.

The photo that captured the moment showing the hardworking commuter on an East Rail train, has gone viral.

The studious commuter can be seen seated on the train's bench with a foldable table opened in front of him as he focuses on a textbook and holds worksheets in hand.

A blue plastic stool was placed alongside the table as if someone were going to join in on the study. The scene is in stark contrast with other passengers who were stuck to their smartphones during their journey.

Web users jokingly said this is the perfect example of "work hard, play hard."

However, as amusing as the scene may seem, people who attempt to copy the act may get themselves in trouble for causing a nuisance in a public place.

Last October, a video of five men playing mahjong on the MTR found themselves fined HK$5,000 for various offenses.
