Hong Kong's two theme parks, Ocean Park and Hong Kong Disneyland, will extend their operating hours on certain dates to support the administration's initiative on boosting the night economy.
Ocean Park yesterday said it will extend its opening hours until 11pm on certain dates next month.
It plans to offer various night time entertainment experiences in the next few months.
One of the park's major events, Ocean Park Halloween Fest, will be launched next month allowing visitors to enjoy creepy haunted houses as well as Halloween shows and performances.
Families will be allowed to take pictures at Halloween-themed attractions throughout the park.
"On designated dates, ie, October 13 to 15, 20 to 23, 27 to 29 and 31, our Hallween Fest will open until 11pm," the park said.
It plans to organize a series of music shows at the Water World and other adventurous activities for the upcoming Christmas and New Year.
"Ocean Park supports developing the night-time economy in order to stimulate local consumption and to consolidate the resumption of inbound tourism," it said.
"We believe a series of night-time cultural and music events, festive celebrations, light shows and bazaars, will provide diverse entertainment choices to consumers and boost the economy."
A spokesman of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort said the park has been opening for six or seven days a week since June to meet visitors' demand, and will have longer business hours on special days like Halloween and Christmas."During selected nights of seasonal offerings, the operation hours will also be extended for guests to fully experience the day and night offerings in the resort," he said.
"Our seasonal offerings, including Halloween and Christmas, are extremely popular and many guests look forward to these events so that they can stay even longer in the resort to enjoy a magical night."
The spokesman added that the park's nighttime spectacle - Momentous, which launched last year - is among visitors' top favorite things to do at the park.
"Together with the reimagined Castle of Magical Dreams, HKDL has been working non-stop to roll out a series of new offerings to captivate both international and domestic guests, thereby bolstering tourism and the economy," the spokesman said.
The park will welcome its first Halloween after the border reopened in February following the end of the Covid pandemic.
"We're thrilled to reintroduce the award-winning Broadway-style musical Let's Get Wicked alongside other Halloween offerings like The Nightmare Before Dinner in the coming Halloween.
"Our evening dining options in the park and hotels also keep guests energized as they enjoy our nighttime entertainment offerings," he said.
The park will also unveil its very own Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse Statue, Dream Makers, which arrives next month, and the world's first and largest Frozen-themed land World of Frozen in November.
"This will be a defining addition to our world-class attractions that help us win over locals and tourists alike," the spokesman noted.
