Fat cat feeds the bloggersphere

A "Stop feeding this cat" banner printed with a photo of a grumpy cat looking like a wanted criminal has caught the attention of Yuen Long residents.

But the cat's owner is just trying to help his pet lose weight.

The banner was widely circulated on social media in Hong Kong and Taiwan and triggered heated discussion.

The pet owner then launched another version of the banner, replacing the "criminal photo" with another photo of the cat, in which the cat's face looks like a socket.

It is understood the cat, kept by a store owner, was just lovelorn.

"Being lovelorn is upsetting enough. But the cat's obesity is also well-advertised," one online comment reads.

"It never rains but it pours" was another comment.
