Togetherness sounds in music awards

A memorable duet is about to play with RadioTelevisionHongKong and Television Broadcasts staging a music awards ceremony together for the first time.

Every year to date, RTHK, TVB, Commercial Radio and Metro Radio have held their own award ceremonies. And ViuTV took to the stage solo with its first music awards ceremony in April.

Expectations are that RTHK and TVB will announce details of their joint ceremony on January 5, and hopes are a combined ceremony will merit a venue of the Hong Kong Coliseum, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre or AsiaWorld-Expo so plenty of fans can buy tickets to watch it.

There's also an online guessing game on whether local boy band Mirror from ViuTV will be there and appear on TVB. This year's first report card on Cantopop came as Metro Radio held its music awards in at the HKCEC last night while Commercial Radio will deliver its music awards at the AsiaWorld-Arena on New Year's Day.
