Mui's long-lost nephew back in touch

A long-lost nephew of late Cantonpop diva Anita Mui Yim-fong has popped up on social media after being out of touch with the family for two decades.

Poon Man-ho, the 28-year-old son of the singer's big sister, Ann Mui Oi-fong, said he watched the film Anita in the cinema twice and could not hold back his tears.

He also says in a Facebook post that he was unaware Anita Mui had searched for him for years before she died of cervical cancer in 2003.

Poon also says he feels proud of his mother and aunt Anita and vows to remember the singer's approach about never giving up.

Now in Canada, he lost contact with the Mui family when his father left Hong Kong with him and his younger brother after his mother also died of cervical cancer in 2000.

Man-ho was then seven years old and his brother five.

Anita Mui, who promised to take care of her sister's sons, tried to find the Poon family in Beijing after hearing they had moved there, but to no avail.

So she failed to reunite with them before her death.
