Primary One Central Allocation results were officially released on Wednesday morning, after the Education Bureau sent erroneous messages a day before.
With 16,345 participants, 14,000 students were allocated to one of their top three choices, recording a satisfaction rate of 93.6 percent this year.
The overall satisfaction rate was 91.2 percent last year, involving 20,355 children.
Some parents received incorrect allocation messages on Tuesday morning, including the wrong year and incorrect registration dates, about a day prior to the official announcement.
The bureau urged recipients to disregard the messages and apologized three times within the day for the inconvenience caused. It also stated that no cyberattacks or hacking were involved.
Some parents said that although the dates shown in the messages received yesterday were incorrect, the allocated results were the same as those announced yesterday.
Secretary for Education, Choi Yuk-lin, emphasized that parents should rely on what was announced today. Parents will receive the Primary One registration form by mail, and they can complete the registration process next Tuesday and Wednesday without being affected by the incident.
