Elderly woman dies after suspected drowning at Deep Water Bay Beach

An elderly woman died after a suspected drowning incident while swimming at Deep Water Bay Beach on Tuesday morning (Jun 2).

Police received a report at 7.09am that a female swimmer aged between 70 and 80 had got into difficulty while swimming off the beach.

She was rescued from the water unconscious and taken to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment, where she was later pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the incident.
