A 17-year-old Australian boy was arrested in Hung Hom on Wednesday after police found a large quantity of suspected drugs, including cocaine, ice, ecstasy, magic mushrooms, LSD and dimethyltryptamine, with an estimated street value of about HK$510,000.
Officers from the Kowloon City district special duty squad conducted an anti-drug operation under the codename "AMBERFLOCK" in the To Kwa Wan Road area. They stopped the boy outside a unit and discovered about 211 grams of suspected cocaine, 382 grams of suspected ice, 591 suspected ecstasy pills, and other suspected drugs including magic mushrooms, LSD and DMT, along with a batch of suspected drug packaging tools.
The boy was arrested on suspicion of trafficking dangerous drugs and is being detained for investigation.
Police reminded that trafficking dangerous drugs is a serious offence, carrying a maximum penalty of a HK$5 million fine and life imprisonment upon conviction.
