Truck crashes into grab truck in Sheung Shui, driver trapped

A truck crashed into the back of a grab truck on Po Shek Wu Road near Choi Yuen Road around 1pm Friday (Mar 13).

The truck’s front was heavily damaged, and the driver was briefly trapped. He called police while injured and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

According to sources, the grab truck had stopped at a red light. About four minutes later, the truck hit it, pushing it forward about a meter (3 feet). Police suspect the truck driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Po Shek Wu Road heading toward Man Kam To near Choi Yuen Road is closed. Several lanes remain closed, causing heavy traffic. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes.
