A 66-year-old man was arrested on Thursday evening (Mar 12) after kicking his wife and threatening her with two kitchen knives over a money dispute in their Tai Wo Road apartment.
Police were called around 7 pm after neighbors reported a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, officers found the man holding two knives, each more than 30 centimeters long, and refusing to cooperate. He had also set fire to a plastic bag inside the apartment.
Both the suspect and his injured wife were sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for treatment.
The man has been charged with criminal intimidation and common assault, and the case is under investigation by the Tai Po District Criminal Investigation Team.
