The sessions were held in recent days as part of ongoing outreach efforts to enhance awareness of immigration rules and employment conditions among foreign domestic workers.
During the seminars, Immigration Department officers reminded participants that domestic helpers are only permitted to perform domestic duties for the employer specified in their employment contract. Attendees were also cautioned against engaging in illegal work or overstaying in Hong Kong.
Officials provided information on issues related to human trafficking to strengthen prevention awareness and advised participants not to abuse the non-refoulement claim mechanism. They also urged attendees to report any suspected acts involving terrorism or extremism.

According to the Immigration Department, the atmosphere at the seminars was positive and interactive. Representatives from both consulates expressed appreciation for the department’s long-standing cooperation and support.
The department said it will continue working closely with relevant stakeholders to provide further publicity and educational activities for foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong.
