A male worker died after falling from scaffolding at a food factory in Tai Po on Tuesday afternoon (Feb 24).

The incident occurred at a Maxim’s food factory on Dai Fu Street in Tai Po Industrial Estate at around 1.28pm. The worker, in his 50s, was carrying out external wall maintenance when he fell from a three-storey-high scaffold and lost consciousness.
Colleagues called police for help, and paramedics rushed him to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in Tai Po, where he was later certified dead.
Police have classified the case as an industrial accident and are investigating the cause.
