Hong Kong’s flagship international talent event, the Global Talent Summit Week (GTS Week), will be held in mid-March, placing the spotlight on the integration of education, technology, and talent, according to Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE).
HKTE said on Thursday that GTS Week will feature two core events — the International Talent Forum and the CareerConnect Expo — taking place on March 18 and 19 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The main programs will be complemented by a week-long series of satellite events focusing on human resources and talent development.
Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu and Secretary for Labour and Welfare Chris Sun Yuk-han will deliver welcome speeches at the International Talent Forum.
Christopher A. Pissarides, a Nobel laureate in Economics in 2010 and regius professor of Economics at the London School of Economics, will deliver a keynote address.
The forum will also include a Fireside Chat featuring Joseph Luc Ngai, chairman of McKinsey & Company in Greater China, who will share his perspectives on the new talent equation for China in the next era of technology and artificial intelligence.
A panel discussion on education will examine cross-regional models of academia-industry collaboration for future talent. Speakers will include Gong Qihuang, president of Peking University, and Nancy Chu Ip Yuk-yu, president of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Another panel will explore how technology acts as a catalyst in shaping talent strategies for innovation, while a dedicated talent panel will focus on sustaining skills and workforce resilience in an increasingly dynamic labor market.

Running alongside the forum, the CareerConnect Expo will bring together nearly 100 Hong Kong partner organizations, offering on-site consultation, career information, and practical guidance for participants.
The announcement comes as Hong Kong was recently ranked first in Asia in the International Institute for Management Development’s World Talent Ranking 2025, achieving its highest position to date.
Felix Chan Hoi-king, Director of HKTE, said that through GTS Week, the office aims to gather insights from global government officials and business leaders, showcase diverse development opportunities, drive cross-regional and cross-sector collaboration, and inspire forward-looking perspectives on talent development.
