Transformer fire at Admiralty MTR station under control

A fire broke out in a transformer at the Admiralty MTR station early on Wednesday but caused no injuries or service disruption.

Firefighters were called to the station's South Island Line plant room at around 5am after smoke was detected. The blaze, involving a transformer, was promptly extinguished.

Preliminary investigations indicate no one was hurt. South Island Line train services operated normally throughout the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
