Suspected explosion at To Kwa Wan flat causes man to fall from second floor

A loud explosion reportedly shook a second-floor unit in To Kwa Wan on Monday evening, sending a deformed aluminum window crashing to the street and a burned man falling to the ground.

At around 6pm today, police and fire services received numerous reports of a suspected explosion at a flat on the second floor of 43-45 Pak Tai Street, To Kwa Wan.

Online photos show a twisted and deformed aluminum window that had apparently been blown out and fallen onto the pavement.

A man was found lying injured on the street, believed to have fallen from the unit.

The injured man, who suffered burns but remained conscious, was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for emergency treatment.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
