Lau, a University College London economics graduate and former investment bank securities analyst, won Miss Hong Kong in 2009, appeared in various shows, then married feng shui master Lee Shing-chak in 2013 and gradually left showbiz.
She has since focused on charity, earning a place in the 2023 Ten Outstanding Young Persons Selection—the second Miss Hong Kong to receive the honour in 35 years after Mary Cheung. In 2025 she was awarded the Medal of Honour (MH), becoming the first Miss Hong Kong to receive this distinction.
Besides her Fight Crime Committee role, Lau serves on the Membership of the Action Committee Against Narcotics.
She recently joined Po Leung Kuk as Director of Philanthropy, Fundraising & Corporate Engagement, pledging to expand philanthropy by connecting businesses and society for innovative, sustainable community projects.
