John Lee uses walking stick, leans on table during LegCo swearing-in due to sciatica

Chief Executive John Lee used a walking stick and leaned on a table for support while presiding over the Legislative Council swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, with his office attributing it to sciatica.

Lee lightly rested his left hand on a side table next to his seat each time a lawmaker finished taking the oath and the next approached. A walking stick was placed beside the table.

After the ceremony, Lee, government officials and legislators gathered in the Legco chamber for a group photo.

The Chief Executive's Office said Lee has sciatica.
