The 64-year-old was found unconscious at the playground on Nelson Street around 11am today. Paramedics rushed him to Kwong Wah Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police reviewed security camera footage and saw the victim arguing and fighting with another elderly man earlier.
The older man reportedly swung his jacket at the victim, causing him to fall backwards, hit his head, and lose consciousness.
Officers located and arrested the 80-year-old suspect at the scene.
He admitted the dispute started over his smoking in the playground, leading to the physical confrontation.
The case is being investigated by the Mong Kok police district.
