Teenager wanted for assault on primary pupil during school trip soccer dispute

Police are searching for a teenager, aged 13 to 16, in connection with a dispute over the use of a soccer field that left an eight-year-old pupil injured after being kicked in the chest and pushed in the face.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of December 12, when the pupil, surnamed Chong, was on a school trip at the Po Leung Kuk Jockey Club Pak Tam Chung Holiday Camp in Sai Kung.

While playing soccer with his classmates at around 1.30pm, a dispute arose between Chong and a student understood to be from Hong Kong Sea School over the use of the pitch.

Chong was struck in the chest by a soccer ball kicked at him and then pushed in the face, causing him to lose balance and fall.

He sustained injuries to his face, upper body and leg. He was later taken to Caritas Medical Centre for treatment by his father, who then reported the incident to the police.

Following the investigation, the case has been classified as assault occasioning actual bodily harm and is being handled by the Wong Tai Sin District Investigation Team.

No arrests have been made so far.
