Secretary for Security Chris Tang Ping-keung reviewed the achievements of the Security Bureau over the past year across four major policy areas, pledging to continue safeguarding Hong Kong for greater happiness and stability in the future.
In a social media post on Sunday (Dec 28), Tang highlighted work that included enhancing legislation related to “safeguarding our country and home” and promoting related initiatives on campuses through creative approaches.
Tang noted that the authorities have strengthened cross-departmental collaboration in "fighting crime and emergency response" to make Hong Kong safer.
He said that the government also aims to bring convenience and facilitation to the public and businesses by leveraging technology and streamlining procedures to improve the immigration experience.
Achievements also include "telling the good stories of Hong Kong," he added, with the city actively fostering regional exchanges and demonstrating responsibility in the international community.
Tang expressed gratitude for the dedication of the team as well as the support of the public, while stating that every task and accomplishment owes much to their professionalism.
Looking ahead, Tang stated that he and his team will continue to advance the four major policy areas and strive to build a more prosperous and stable city to ensure the safety of residents.
