Police arrested four elderly local residents on Tuesday afternoon for illegal street gambling at Pak Tin Estate in Shek Kip Mei.
A district special duties squad and a patrol subunit detained three men and one woman, aged between 59 and 70, on suspicion of gambling in a public place other than a casino. They are being held for investigation.
Officers also seized gambling tools and a small amount of cash at the scene.
Police said they will continue to strengthen patrols with stakeholders to combat street gambling.
Under the Gambling Ordinance, gambling in a public place is a serious offence punishable by a maximum fine of $50,000 and nine months' imprisonment upon conviction.
