With the Legislative Council election underway, plenty of government officials, business leaders and celebrities have cast their votes and are encouraging the public to fulfill their civic responsibility in electing new lawmakers.

He hoped the lawmakers could push for the advancement of Hong Kong’s economy and livelihoods, while also accelerating support for Tai Po fire victims and reconstruction efforts.
Martial arts superstar Donnie Yen Chi-tan hoped for more resources and funding to promote the film industry’s development. He emphasized the need for detailed staffing and planning to better preserve the unique characteristics of Hong Kong films.
He expressed deep condolences to the victims of the deadly Wang Fuk Court fire and called for unity to assist the victims as well as the affected families.

Henry Tang Ying-yen, Standing Committee Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, voted at HKCEC and urged citizens to exercise their civic rights and participate in today’s election.
He said Hong Kong has entered a new phase in the practice of “one country, two systems” and that the election marks an important milestone for this new stage and is crucial for the long-term stability of the principle.
Tang further noted that LegCo is an essential part of the governance structure of the SAR, playing a vital role in achieving good governance, implementing the “patriots administering Hong Kong” principle, as well as safeguarding public welfare, maintaining security and promoting quality development.

Martin Lee Ka-shing, chairperson and managing director of Henderson Land Development, encourages citizens to vote and fulfill their civic responsibility. He praised the positive election atmosphere, noting a nearly 90 percent voter turnout in the Election Committee constituency, and urged those not yet to vote to do so soon.
