Organised by the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association and backed by the government’s Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency, the opening event spotlighted four rising stars of global couture: Peet Dullaert from the Netherlands, Japan’s Tomo Koizumi, and Chinese designers Zhaoyi Yu and Caroline Hu.
Forty jaw-dropping creations floated down the runway, proving why these names have already lit up Paris, Tokyo, and New York fashion weeks.
Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law opened the night by celebrating couture as the pinnacle of fashion artistry, where the world’s finest fabrics are transformed into wearable masterpieces.
She hailed the choice of couture as the perfect curtain-raiser for this year’s festival, underlining Hong Kong’s ambition to become an international style capital.
Beyond the runway, the designers will host pop-up trunk shows and intimate fireside chats throughout the weekend, giving industry insiders and fashion lovers a rare chance to get up close with the collections and hear their visions for the future of high fashion.
