Elderly patient arrested for alleged sexual assault on hospital worker at Caritas Medical Centre

A 78-year-old male patient was arrested inside a medicine and geriatrics ward at Caritas Medical Centre (CMC) on Monday after allegedly indecently assaulting a female patient care assistant who was tending to him the previous morning.

Hospital authorities confirmed the arrest followed an immediate report by the staff member yesterday.

Police were called to the ward and took the elderly man into custody.

Management at the CMC expressed deep concern and strongly condemned the alleged act, pledging zero tolerance and full cooperation with the ongoing police investigation while offering support and sympathy to the affected worker.

The case has been formally logged with the Hospital Authority Head Office through its incident reporting system.
