An 80-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly destroying Legislative Council election banners in Tseung Kwan O on Sunday.

Police received a report around 11am from a political party staff member stating that four retractable banners for LegCo election candidates had been torn down and damaged on Man Kuk Lane pavement.
After investigation, officers arrested the suspect, surnamed Lam, at a Tseung Kwan O unit around 8:35pm. The local man was detained on suspicion of criminal damage.
The case continues under investigation by the Tseung Kwan O district crime squad. The 2025 Hong Kong Legislative Council election is scheduled for December 7.
