A group of students sparked outrage online after a video showed them pouring bottled water onto riders at Ocean Park’s The Rapids attraction.
According to social media posts, six students were seen standing on a bridge above the ride and splashing water onto a boat of visitors. One victim said the group poured water twice and even laughed, asking, “Was the water good?” The victim later traced the students’ school and filed a formal complaint.
The incident drew strong online criticism, with many condemning the students’ behavior as disrespectful and unsafe. While some argued the issue was blown out of proportion, many others questioned what was inside the bottles.
The bridge features official water guns for interactive play, but netizens noted that pouring water from bottles is not intended and could pose safety risks. A similar complaint was reported in 2024, when unknown individuals poured an unidentified liquid from the same bridge.
With the issue resurfacing, netizens called on Ocean Park to step up safety monitoring. Some suggested visitors watch from above and alert staff if they notice suspicious behavior.
Sources said the school involved has apologized and launched an internal investigation. The students were instructed to reflect on their actions, and all were reminded during a morning assembly to behave appropriately outside campus. Counseling and guidance sessions will also be arranged to foster empathy and discipline.
