The victim had originally been set upon by three non-Chinese men around October 17 outside Pang Ching Street in To Kwa Wan following a minor dispute.
He chose not to report the incident at the time and sought treatment on his own at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Yesterday morning, shortly after 9am, he encountered the same individual along Castle Peak Road—Castle Peak Bay Section and flagged down officers for help.
Responding police detained the 34-year-old suspect on suspicion of wounding.
The case remains classified as wounding and is under investigation by the Kowloon City police district, which continues to search for the two outstanding non-Chinese accomplices.
Both the victim and the arrested man are understood to be holders of temporary permits that allow temporary stay in Hong Kong.
