The accident occurred around 1.41pm today at the intersection of Forbes Street and Smithfield.
The minibus mounted the sidewalk, its front end crashing through the convenience store’s window.
Rescue workers arrived to find two elderly women on the ground, shaken and injured from falling during the chaos.
Both remained conscious and received initial treatment at the scene.
The minibus driver sustained minor injuries but declined hospital treatment and was taken to a police station for questioning.
The two women were transported by ambulance for further care.
The busy pedestrian area narrowly avoided a more serious incident, as no one was struck by the vehicle.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash. At the scene, the minibus’s front was heavily damaged, with its windshield shattered.
The store’s display window was destroyed, bottles of drinks lay burst across the floor, and broken glass littered the area, creating a scene of significant disruption.
