Duncan Chiu Tat-kun, a member of the Technology and Innovation functional constituency, has announced that he will run for re-election in the next term of the Legislative Council (LegCo).
In a social media post on Thursday (Oct 23), Chiu expressed his hope to continue contributing to the work of LegCo by leveraging the experience accumulated in recent years to drive Hong Kong innovation and technology (I&T) development.
He noted that numerous issues related to I&T still require legislative advancement, including talent development, scientific research, digital assets, and cybersecurity.
Meanwhile, Chiu stated that over the past four years, he has served as a bridge between the government, the I&T sector, and professionals of the industry.
“I have actively engaged in various issues, absorbed public opinions on I&T development, and shared my insights during the legislative process,” Chiu said.
Furthermore, he expressed satisfaction with the growth of Hong Kong's I&T sector, noting that whether in research and development, policy support, or various talent initiatives, the sector is attracting global talent to the city.
