A 41-year-old Hang Seng Bank manager was found dead in the waters off Lohas Park in Tseung Kwan O on Wednesday morning, just hours after he went missing following a company event.
The man, surnamed Wong, was discovered floating near 1 Lohas Park Road at around 10am by a passerby, who immediately alerted emergency services.
Rescue personnel pulled the unconscious man from the water and transported him to Siu Sai Wan Pier on Hong Kong Island, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to police, Wong had told his 35-year-old wife at around 9pm on Monday that he had completed a company-organized running event. He subsequently lost contact with his family.
After several failed attempts to reach him, his wife reported him missing. Police later confirmed that the body recovered was that of the missing bank manager.
The case has been classified as “body found” and referred to the Eastern District Crime Squad for investigation. Officers are working to determine the circumstances leading to his death.
