Sino Group has announced an investment of more than HK$5 million to host over 30 sports-themed events and live broadcasts across its shopping malls, in support of the upcoming 15th National Games of China. The initiative aims to ignite citywide enthusiasm, promote an active lifestyle, and unite the community in cheering for Hong Kong’s athletes as they compete on the national stage.
As one of the host cities for this year’s National Games, which will open on November 9, Hong Kong will organize eight competitive events and one mass participation event. To mark this milestone, Sino Group will transform four of its flagship malls — Olympian City, tmtplaza, Citywalk, and One North— into interactive sports and cultural hubs throughout October and November.
Bella Chhoa, Director of Asset Management at Sino Group, stated that the company remains committed to supporting the development of sports in Hong Kong through diverse community initiatives. She explained that this year’s campaign is designed to foster broad public participation and encourage residents of all ages to take part in the sporting excitement.
“During the previous Paris Olympics, Sino Group has set up giant television screens at malls such as Olympian City and tmtplaza to broadcast the events live, allowing citizens across Hong Kong to witness the historic moments of local athletes winning medals in real time. For this year’s National Games, the Sino Group will build on that momentum by continuing to host a wide variety of activities that encourage public participation in sports. These events will range from traditional cultural sports to emerging disciplines and will cater to all age groups — including infants, fitness enthusiasts, and elderly participants,” she said.
Activities will include gymnastics, rugby, breaking, pickleball, dragon and lion dance, baby crawling races, and street workout competitions, among others. The National Games will also be broadcast live across the Group’s malls, enabling the public to stay closely connected with this major sporting event and cheer on the Hong Kong team in real time.

Olympian City hosts live broadcasts and interactive challenges
Olympian City Phase 2 has been transformed into a vibrant, sports-themed venue to broadcast the National Games live. A 430-inch high-definition screen and dedicated spectator seating have been installed in the atrium, allowing visitors to experience the excitement of the Games in a dynamic and immersive environment.
The venue also features an interactive “Reaction Light Challenge,” where participants must press a series of illuminated buttons at precise intervals matching the National Games’ opening date — “09.11.25.” Those who successfully complete the challenge will receive a mascot plush toy from the 15th National Games.
Fencing, widely regarded as one of Hong Kong’s strongest medal prospects, is also featured prominently. A giant fencing-themed photo wall has been set up at Olympian City, where visitors can take photos and show their support for local athletes.
tmtplaza launches Hong Kong’s largest outdoor pickleball venue
In tmtplaza located in Tuen Mun, Sino Group has unveiled a newly upgraded outdoor area called “tmtp commons.” This open-air community space, which officially opens in October, spans over 10,000 square feet and features a multi-functional sports court.
The court includes six pickleball courts, two badminton courts, and one basketball court, making it the location with the highest number of pickleball courts in Hong Kong. To offer residents a diverse range of sporting experiences, Sino Group has partnered with Pickleball Lab to provide both court reservations and structured training programs.
Visitors can register for professional pickleball lessons conducted by certified coaches. These sessions are designed to accommodate all skill levels, ranging from complete beginners to experienced players. The courts will be officially opened to the public in November, bringing new recreational opportunities and community engagement to the Tuen Mun area.

Activities for all ages: from cultural traditions to emerging urban sports
Sino Group’s program of activities is inclusive and diverse, featuring a wide array of traditional, modern, and family-friendly events that aim to appeal to people of all ages and backgrounds.
The schedule includes traditional Chinese cultural sports such as dragon and lion dance performances, which will be featured in this year’s National Games for the first time as a mass participation event. These performances aim to highlight Hong Kong’s cultural heritage while fostering a spirit of community celebration.
Emerging urban sports will also take center stage. These include the China–Hong Kong Breaking Team Selection Competition, which will showcase top breakdancers from both regions, as well as public engagement activities in pickleball, floor curling, and disc dodgeball.
In addition to these, the program will include competitive sports experiences such as bowling, rugby, and artistic gymnastics. Street workout competitions will promote fitness in everyday settings, while young children can enjoy dedicated toddler-friendly events that encourage early interest in physical activity.
All activities are designed to engage infants, children, teenagers, adults, and seniors alike, reinforcing Sino Group’s commitment to building a more active and inclusive society through sport.
Citywide live coverage to keep the public connected to the games
From November 9 to 21, Sino Group’s four major malls will broadcast the National Games in full high definition. Olympian City and tmtplaza will feature giant live screens measuring 430 inches and 540 inches, respectively. Citywalk and One North will also air synchronized live broadcasts of the events to ensure that residents in different districts can stay connected to the action.
On November 9, the opening day of the Games, Olympian City will distribute cheering props and organize special viewing events to create a festive atmosphere. This initiative will allow the public to come together and witness the dedication and determination of Hong Kong’s athletes as they compete on home soil.

To further build excitement ahead of the Games, Sino Group will co-host a pre-event celebration with TVB on November 2 at Olympian City to support local athletes. This pre-Games party will feature appearances by popular TVB celebrities, who will join the public in showing their support for Team Hong Kong. On November 16, TVB artists will also attend a live screening of the fencing competition at the mall, where they will cheer on Hong Kong athletes alongside fans!
