It was understood that the decision was made following a meeting of the Steering Committee on Extreme Weather, chaired by Chief Secretary Eric Chan Kwok-ki, to assess the post-typhoon situation.
The committee concluded that if the weather continues to stabilize, universities, primary, and secondary schools can resume normal operations on Thursday.
However, the resumption of classes for kindergartens remains uncertain and is contingent upon the potential lowering of the No. 3 Strong Wind Signal.
The committee noted that if the No. 3 signal remains in force, kindergartens would likely continue to be suspended. The government is expected to announce the final arrangements later today.
