Two drivers rescued after head-on collision between minibus and truck in Ngau Tau Kok

A minibus and a truck collided head-on at a traffic light outside Lotus Towers in Ngau Tau Kok on Tuesday night around 11:00pm, trapping both drivers in their vehicles for over thirty minutes. Firefighters required extensive rescue equipment to free the drivers, with the truck operator extracted after half an hour and the minibus driver freed following nearly sixty minutes of entrapment.

Preliminary reports indicate the empty minibus was traveling from Kwun Tong to Tsuen Wan when the truck allegedly crossed into oncoming lanes at the traffic light intersection. 

The truck driver sustained chest compression injuries while the minibus driver suffered leg entrapment during the collision. Both were transported to hospital for treatment following their rescue from the severely damaged vehicles.
