The Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (OCMFA) has recently organized the “Belt and Road” Visit for Hong Kong Young International Legal Talents.
The program provided an invaluable opportunity for emerging legal professionals from the city to engage with key institutions and businesses in Beijing and Xinjiang.
In a sharing session held on Monday (Aug 11), participants reflected on the trip and shared their takeaways.
Speaking at the session, OCMFA Commissioner Cui Jianchun highlighted the pivotal role young lawyers play as Hong Kong leverages its core strengths and enhances global connectivity.
He noted that their bilingual abilities, cultural awareness, and innovative mindset position them to build stronger bridges between Hong Kong and the international community and help deepen global understanding of the country’s vision.
Secretary for Justice Paul Lam Ting-kwok, Law Society president Roden Tong Man-lung, along with the Law Society representatives Council member Shum Hin-han, Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (“GCLAC”) member Celeste Lo, Young Solicitors’ Group member Joanna Tong and young lawyer Vanessa Cheng attended the sharing session.
