A carnival marking the countdown to the National Games -- which will be jointly hosted by Hong Kong, Guangdong, and Macau -- took place on Sunday, with the sports chief noting that activities to enhance the community's enthusiasm for sports will be organized across various districts.
The event was organized by Hong Kong Guangdong Youth Association, in which Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui, chairman of the Association Eric Fok Kai-shan, executive chairman of the Association Adam Kwok Kai-fai and former swimming athlete Alex Fong Lik-sun attended.
Law stated that with less than 100 days to go, the 15th National Games symbolized the milestone of the integrated development in the Greater Bay Area, but also a new level in sports collaboration, cultural integration, and youth development among the three regions.
She noted that the countdown carnival will encourage youngsters to pursue their dreams through sports and further foster a national atmosphere of enthusiasm for the National Games.
Law added that the "2025 National Games Fiesta" -- featuring the sports experiences and interactive games associated with the competition events of Hong Kong -- will be held from August to October across 19 shopping malls and hotspots in different districts to enrich public awareness of the National Games.
