(Video) Vessel collides with pier in Sai Wan amid Typhoon Wipha, no injuries

A vessel crashed into the pier in Sai Wan this morning as Typhoon Wipha hit Hong Kong, and no injuries were reported. 

The accident happened at 10.06am as authorities received reports that a three-storey ship, M/V Dragon Pearl, was adrift in the waters off No. 18 Sai Ning Street, Kennedy Town, and eventually collided with the China Merchants Wharf.

Sources said the ship was initially moored at the Western District Public Cargo Working Area, and it is suspected that the anchor accidentally released and the vessel kept floating for about 300 meters with the waves before crashing into the Wharf. 

The ship has since been re-anchored, and the police are investigating the incident.
