A luxury residence in Tuen Mun's Palm Beach unit was burglarized in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with thieves making off with valuables worth approximately HK$2.12 million.
Police were alerted around 1am today when the homeowners' 28-year-old son discovered the break-in at their Castle Peak Road residence. He found the living room windows forced open and the home thoroughly ransacked.
The homeowners were away on a trip at the time of the burglary.
According to initial police assessments, the stolen items included seven high-end wristwatches valued at HK$1.18 million, various pieces of jewelry and gold worth about HK$270,000, and approximately HK$670,000 in mixed currencies.
Authorities from the Tuen Mun police district have taken over the investigation, classifying the case as a burglary.
No arrests have been made so far.
