A police investigation into suspected illegal workers disrupted the second day of K-pop superstar G-Dragon’s three-day concert series at The Galaxy Arena in Macau.
Fans reported chaos after officers abruptly entered the merchandise sales area hours before the Friday evening’s performance. Attendees shared on Threads, claiming approximately 80 percent of the staff were detained during the sales launch at 10am, leaving only four employees to manage the crowd of thousands of fans.
Some concertgoers reported being temporarily barred from exiting the venue due to the operation. One attendee described it as the first time they had witnessed Macau police storming a major event to detain undocumented workers.
The Public Security Police Force confirmed that a joint inspection with labor authorities occurred at 10:30 am, during which the identities of 96 non-local staff were verified. Two managers were taken in for questioning. The PSP mentioned that legal actions would be pursued if violations were confirmed, noting that the investigation is still ongoing.
