Hong Kong recorded nearly 520,000 border crossings through all control points by 4pm on Monday, marking the final day of the mainland's Golden Week holiday period, according to figures from the Immigration Department.
The data indicated that around 260,000 travelers entered Hong Kong, with residents of the city accounting for over 180,000 of these arrivals. The Lo Wu checkpoint saw the highest number of returning locals, followed by the port at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
On the outbound side, the figures showed more than 259,000 departures, including over 65,000 mainland visitors exiting the city.
