The Li Ka Shing Foundation has gifted the hospital with the Histotripsy 2.0 system, an advanced non-invasive treatment that uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to destroy liver tumors. This follows similar donations to the medical faculties of the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong last year.
Approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the innovative procedure offers higher efficacy and lower risks compared to traditional surgical methods.
During his visit, Li received detailed briefings from medical professionals about the system's clinical applications and patient benefits.

The foundation's latest contribution reinforces Li's longstanding commitment to advancing Hong Kong's medical capabilities.
