The government official said this roadmap aims to assist small and medium-sized logistics enterprises in systematically implementing ESG practices to meet international standards, enhance the overall competitiveness of the logistics industry, and solidify Hong Kong's leading position as an international logistics hub.
Chan highlighted that the Legco’s Finance Committee has approved over HK$200 million in funding to expedite the establishment of the "Port Community System" by the end of the year.
This system will interconnect the city’s shipping, port, logistics, and trading sectors through information sharing, said Chan.
The system will also enable real-time tracking of goods by all parties, breaking the current fragmentation of information and creating conditions for seamless integration with other ports, thereby enhancing the international competitiveness of Hong Kong ports, she added.
