An elderly man was rescued after becoming immobile and trapped on a slope in Tuen Mun due to a suspected stroke while attempting to fetch water from a nearby river on Friday morning.

The incident involved a 70-year-old man, surnamed Mok, who was cycling near the North West New Territories Refuse Transfer Station on Shun Tat Street, Lam Tei, Tuen Mun, at around 9am.
During his ride, he felt thirsty and decided to descend a slope to access river water near Wo Ping Sun Chuen.
While descending approximately 20 meters below the road level on the slope, Mok suddenly became unable to move and found himself trapped. He suspected he was having a stroke, which rendered him immobile.
Mok managed to call for help on his own, and the fire department swiftly responded to the emergency.
Residents who heard his cries for assistance also helped by alerting the police.
He was subsequently rescued and taken to Tuen Mun Hospital while in a conscious state.
